Now, Reliance To Set Up Data Center In AP

Reliance 1GW AI data center plan

After Google, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Group is set to establish a 1GW AI data center in Andhra Pradesh. This makes Reliance the next major corporate player to follow Google, which recently announced a $15 billion 1 GW data center cluster in Vizag.

The new facility will be a twin to Reliance’s Jamnagar data center. It will be a fully modular setup equipped with graphic processing units, tensor processing units and AI processors. AP IT Minister Lokesh earlier stated that the state aims to bring in 6 GW data centers in total.

The government has already signed a deal for 500 MW with Sify. Reliance is expected to sign an MoU with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for a 6 GW solar power project to supply energy to the upcoming data center on Friday.

As part of the MoU, Reliance will also build a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool over 170 acres. The company will manufacture beverages, packaged drinking water, chocolates, snacks and flour (atta) at the facility.

These investments come as Andhra Pradesh hosts the CII Investment Summit on November 14 and 15. The initiatives are expected to attract more industries and strengthen the state’s digital and industrial ecosystem.
