Bombardier’s Global 8000 has officially become the world’s fastest passenger jet to receive type certification. Transport Canada granted approval on November 5, 2025, marking a key step toward the aircraft entering service later this year.
Record-Breaking Speed and Range
The Global 8000 reaches a top speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest active passenger jet since the Concorde. It also offers a range of 8,000 nautical miles, enabling non-stop flights between Dubai and Houston or Singapore and Los Angeles.
Passenger Comfort and Design
Designed for comfort and endurance, the Global 8000 keeps cabin altitude at just 2,691 feet while flying at 41,000 feet. This reduces fatigue and enhances passenger well-being during long flights. The aircraft’s first production flight took place in May 2025, followed by successful supersonic testing.
Awaiting Global Approvals
Bombardier now awaits certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. Once cleared, customer deliveries will begin, strengthening Bombardier’s reputation as a leader in business aviation.
Setting a New Benchmark
The Global 8000 combines record speed, efficiency, and luxury. Its aerodynamic design and range place it ahead of rivals in the long-range jet category. With this certification, Bombardier continues to redefine performance and innovation in global aviation.
