When it comes to numbers, Indians surely stand ahead of everyone else. The 21st century is the perfect time to imagine what globalization looks like and in this global image of the world, Indians definitely feature. Indians are one of the top visitors to countries like the US, Canada and the UK. In a latest data revelation, it has been found that 1/3rd of all visas granted by the UK government were given to Indians.
This puts India at the top of the list with 30 percent of all visas issued. It will be surprising to note that the second on the list is not anywhere close to India. China is ranked second on the list with 13 percent of all visas, followed by Nigeria and Turkey.
The number of visas issued by the UK government doubled this year. A total of 18 lakh visas were approved by the government. Although it is speculated that the revised visa application fee might have an impact on the number of applications.
The current rates charge ₹12,615 for a standard visitor visa for a period of 6 months. The rate increases to ₹43,879 for a period of 2 years and ₹1,05,639 for a period of 10 years.
