Experts were calling it for long and believed it was bound to happen anytime as it did on Sunday as Joe Biden announced he will no longer be running for re-election as the president of the United States. Democrats, Republicans, everyone seem to have welcomed the move and it explains well how desperately it was needed.
Joe Biden made a public statement on Sunday in which he reflected on his time in the office. He said he is going to focus all his energy for the remainder of his time in White House. He also said that he will talk more about this issue later in the week.

With Biden stepping down, it is important for the democrats to repair the damage done by him in the last few months. Many Democrats were reportedly turning republican because they felt Biden was incapable of continuing for 4 more years.

Now they have someone relatively younger and who is not facing as many criminal charges as the opposition. They can definitely gain a few points in they play their cards right.
