Just four months before the elections, a suspected assassination attempt was made against former American president and current presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, some U.S. media reports are suggesting that it was a planned attack. The evidences found at the location also suggest the same.
At the time of the attack, Trump was participating in a rally in Pennsylvania. Suddenly, a series of gunshots were fired and it appeared that a bullet just passed through Trump’s ear, resulting in his injury.
According to the reports, the suspect fired multiple rounds of shots from the rooftop of a house outside the rally location. A ladder was also found outside that house.
As per expert analysis, eight shots were fired from the same firearm. The suspect took his position and was ready before Trump reached the location.
Meanwhile, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified the culprit as 20-year-old Thomas Mathew Crooks. He was a resident of Pennsylvania. He used an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle to shoot Trump.
The secret service’s sniper, who was at an elevated position, was quick to respond and shot and killed the suspected shooter immediately.
The law enforcement stated that the investigation is underway to find the motive behind the attack and if anyone else was involved in it.
Meanwhile, leaders across the world condemned the attack against Trump. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that violence has no place in politics and democracies.
“Wish him a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, those injured and the American people,” Modi added.
