In South Florida, three men – Somjeet, Avin, and Gavin – are facing serious charges for the kidnapping and murder of Suren Seetal, a 36-year-old airplane mechanic from Miami-Dade County.
The charges against them include a plot to hire someone for murder, actual murder, kidnapping, and obstructing justice.
The story unravels with Somjeet owing Suren a hefty $315,000. Suren, just doing his job, was trying to collect the debt when things took a dark turn.
Suren was last seen leaving work on November 2. His phone led investigators to Somjeet’s air conditioning business before going silent. Turns out, Somjeet, Avin, and Gavin were all connected through the fireworks business they used to work in. As the investigation unfolds, it seems that Somjeet lured Suren to his business, where Gavin was waiting with a firearm.
Security footage shows Somjeet and Avin buying supplies, and Avin’s phone was tracked in the direction where Suren’s body was found later.
Now, facing serious charges, the three could end up with a life sentence or even the death penalty if convicted. The legal process is underway with hearings already done for Avin and Gavin, while Somjeet’s is set for Wednesday.
