
F-1 student visa rejections are on the rise as US consulates in India are denying visas without any explanation, despite the applicant having all the right credentials and background.
A student recently took to social media to share their experience from the Chennai consulate. With a BE in Mechanical Engineering, research experience at IIT Madras, and an application at Arizona State University (ASU), the visa officer deemed that they still weren’t eligible for the F-1 visa.

As the officers hand out these rejections without any explanation, the applicants are left guessing what they did wrong. Amidst bombarding advice and opinions from everyone, it gets even more confusing and frustrating.
This F-1 applicant believes that when they mentioned “working” in sustainable energy, it sounded alarms for the official, immediately after which they were handed their rejection. But the sad part is that nothing can be confirmed.

This is becoming a pattern. Too many Indian students are facing visa rejections, even with solid profiles.
Students now fear being denied over minor slip-ups. Confidence, clarity, and even rehearsed answers seem more important than real achievements, documents, and background checks.
