
The immigration crackdown in the US has not only caused panic among the H-1B workers but also among tech firms which are heavily dependent on the immigrant force. Now, a recent media report suggests companies are warning employees not to leave the US.
Trump’s strict measures have even put Silicon Valley on the edge as they are in fear that if their H-1B workers leave the country they might not be allowed back. It shows that the US tech giants are equally dependent on their immigrant workforce than the other way around.

H1B visas makeup just 65,000 spots, with Indian techies comprising a major portion. Yet, in a country of 340 million, this small number is enough to cause massive disruption in tech.
Critics argue that past abuses have tainted the H1B system. But instead of fixing it, the focus has shifted to making it harder for all skilled workers.

It is not a secret that the US isn’t producing enough tech talent, and instead of solving that, Trump’s policies are making things worse. Indian techies have earned their highly skilled jobs, and only now the companies are realizing their worth.
While on one hand, China is investing billions in AI and deep tech, the US is pushing out global talent that has been their backbone in innovation. This political disaster is only going to set them back in the ongoing tech war.
