Hindus, Sikhs, Jains & Buddhists Join In USA Congress!

Shri Thanedar A free society is also an inclusive society. America, the great land of freedom, can never truly be called free as long as it’s not inclusive for minorities. In an attempt to make an equitable society in the USA, an Indian American Congressman, Shri Thanedar is going to launch a new Congressional caucus with an aim to protect the interests of the Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains living in the United States.

About two dozen lawmakers have supported the caucus so far which will be officially launched on Friday under the name of Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Jain(HBSJ) American Congressional caucus. The main purpose of the organization would be to serve as a voice for the community.

It will provide a platform where dialogues specific to the needs of the community can be encouraged. There has been a recent spurt in incidents of religious intolerance in the West including the USA. The caucus would aim to address issues of religious discrimination and ensure religious freedom for all the Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains.

The caucus will also try to initiate interfaith dialogues and promote harmony in the community. It focuses on the overall well being of the community through education, awareness and a positive public image.
