An Indian student has been reportedly kidnapped in the USA and his parents were demanded to pay a ransom of $1200 by the kidnappers.
Getting into details, Abdul Mohammed, aged 25, hails from the Nacharam area in Hyderabad. He moved to the USA in May 2023 to pursue Master’s in Information Technology from Cleveland University. He has not been in contact with the family members since March 7.
Meanwhile, Abdul’s father Mohammed Saleem got an anonymous call stating that his son had been kidnapped by a drug-peddling gang in Cleveland. The caller demanded a ransom of $1200 in order to release Abdul.
The kidnapper didn’t mention the mode of payment. However, he warned that if the amount is not paid, Abdul’s kidney will be sold.
On March 18, Abdul’s family penned a letter to the Indian Council in Chicago, seeking assistance in locating Abdul.
Simultaneously, Abdul’s relatives in the USA lodged a missing person report with the Cleveland police. Subsequently, cops issued a lookout notice and initiated an investigation.
