Gun crimes have become an everyday concern in the USA, with news of such gun-related incidents frequently making headlines, even in minor altercations. A recent news story from the US involved an Indian Sikh man accidentally shooting himself with a gun.
The bizarre incident revolves around a man named Pankaj, originally hailing from Karnal, Haryana, who harbored aspirations of moving to the US. After selling a plot in Rahra, he somehow managed to gather 40 lakh rupees, sufficient to facilitate his illegal migration to the US, often referred to as the “Donkey Route”. Upon arriving in the US, he aimed to overcome his struggles and start afresh, but unfortunately met with failure. Acquiring a gun in the US is relatively uncomplicated, and when he obtained one, he decided to inspect it. During the examination, the revolver accidentally discharged, hitting him in the chest and resulting in his demise.
Pankaj’s brother, Parveen, has appealed to the Government of India to expedite the repatriation of Pankaj’s remains.
