One of the biggest hurdles that one faces when traveling to a foreign country is getting the Visa. If you’re from a country which doesn’t have a very strong passport, getting into other countries even for visiting your families can be tough. Many Indian and Nigerian nationals were denied entry into Canada even after having a valid Visa.
The border authorities in Canada have refused entry to many Indians with valid visas on several grounds. Mostly they were people who were returning to their family members who live in Canada. In some cases, a few Nigerian nationals were also asked to seek refuge if they want to enter the country.
The Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) has complete authority over who they allow to enter the country. The laws permit them the power to deny entry to anyone whom they find suspicious.
This makes the system non-transparent and there are always some allegations of bias against the officers. Many times the reason cited by the authorities to deny entry is ambiguous and being in a foreign country, the visitors often find themselves helpless.
