No ! It’s not an April Fool from Japan ! But, truly Indian passport holders, no longer need to carry a physical visa to visit Japan. Because , Japan introduced their new eVisa.
From 1st April 2024 Japan began issuing eVisa to the Indian travellers. Through Japan Visa Application Centres, anyone can apply for an e visa now. For tourism purposes, this Visa allows tourists to visit Japan for 90 days.
Although, one has to apply to Visa Application Centres which is controlled by VFS Global, still having the same process as before. But, one significant change is before the introduction to this e-Visa one has to get that Visa sticker attached to their passport, but now they can get it through an e-mail.
Citizens of Brazil, Taiwan, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Cambodia, Saudi Arabia, USA and India are eligible for apply the Visa.
One just has to follow a simple procedure, while apply the Visa, and they are good to go for a tour in the beautiful Japan.
