Anti-semitism has always been a very sensitive issue in the West. Generally it has been left liberals accusing the conservatives for being anti-semitic. This dynamic has changed ever since the beginning of the Israel-Palestine war. An Indian Origin woman and lawyer, Sarah Chowdhury have come under fire for allegedly spreading hatred towards Jews.
Sarah’s conversation with a Jewish man has been leaked in which she can be seen using extremely problematic words for Jews. Sarah used terms like ‘fuc**n jew’ and also said, “Hitler should have eradicated all of you”.
Sarah who is the President of the South Asian Bar Assoc. of Chicago and worked at the Illinois comptroller’s office has been removed from both the positions after the incident. Sarah was a left wing activist and this has stirred the politics in the USA.
The right wing conservatives who have openly been critical of the Jewish community and have put forth theories of Jewish controlling all money and media have suddenly come down heavily on anti-semitism which they have long ignored.
Sarah has admitted to have said some of the things leaked in the post after which she was immediately fired. The situation caused by the war has made it extremely difficult for anyone to take a stand at. There has even been a divide in the Jewish community living in the US as hundreds of them matched and protested against Israel for the Palestinian cause.
