Trump criticized Kamala Harris for changing her stance on issues like fracking and border security. He questioned why, as Vice President, she hadn’t achieved more.

Kamala Harris responded by blaming Trump for the spread of abortion bans across states and condemned him for the January 6 Capitol attack, accusing him of subverting democracy.

Kamala Harris also called Trump “weak and wrong” on national security, citing military leaders who labeled him a “disgrace.”

Despite his attempts to deflect, Harris seemed to maintain her composure, avoiding his traps, such as his repeated insults about Joe Biden and personal attacks on her background.

On key issues like the economy, Harris emphasized her plans, focusing on home ownership, tax credits, and small business support, while attacking Trump’s tariffs and inflation.

Trump’s refusal to acknowledge his role in the Capitol riots gave Kamala Harris an opening to call him unfit to lead.

According to early snap polls and media reports, Kamala Harris appeared to have won the debate. Her composed responses, ability to avoid Trump’s personal attacks, and focus on key issues like the economy, immigration, and abortion helped her gain the upper hand.

Polls showed that she impressed viewers, especially undecided voters, with her strong performance, while Trump’s meandering answers and personal jabs seemed to backfire.

However, Trump claimed he performed well and that Harris “lost very badly.” Despite his confidence, the general perception was that Harris had a stronger showing in the debate.

After the debate, Trump made an unexpected visit to the media center, seemingly in response to his poor performance.

In a dramatic post-debate move, pop star Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris, citing her strong leadership and values, further shifting the focus toward Harris’s growing support ahead of the election.
