London Mayor Requests To Redo This Classic Film!

Sadiq Khan Mayor London

Sadiq Khan, who is now serving his third term as the Mayor of London, has proposed that Bollywood remake the classic movie “Amar, Akbar, Anthony.” This iconic film, released in the year 1977, featured Vinod Khanna as Amar, Rishi Kapoor as Akbar, and Amitabh Bachchan as Anthony Gonsalves, showcasing three individuals from different religions and conveying a powerful message of religious harmony.

Sadiq Khan draws parallels between the movie’s theme and the current state of London, with Prince Charles III as a Christian, himself as a Muslim, and Rishi Sunak as a Hindu, holding the top three positions in the city.

Mr. Khan believes that such movies exemplify a unique quality of Bollywood and suggests they should create more with similar themes. He commends the Indian community in London for their significant contributions to the city’s development and mentions the substantial number of Bollywood filmmakers who choose London as a filming location.

If such a movie were to be remade, it would likely resonate with a diverse and global audience, highlighting the importance of religious harmony and diversity, both in London and beyond.
