The Olympics is a huge event to advertise your country and boost tourism. Nations have been using this opportunity to claim themselves as global superpowers. Billions are spent into these events that could be used to change the country for good but events like these are a better marketing tool. Unfortunately for France, the Paris Olympics is turning into a nightmare as authorities fail to keep law and order.

Some of the athletes are having a really tough time because of the notorious Paris crowd which is occasionally turning into a mob. The Argentine football team was allegedly robbed by looters before their match. The head coach alleged that thieves broke in and stole belongings.
One of the players had their watch and jewelry stolen. Before this, the Australian cycling team also faced similar issues as they were looted by unknown elements. There are also incidents of destruction of property and violence.

During the Argentina vs Morocco match, fans breached security and entered ground. Many fired missiles at the Argentine players. Some are calling it a result of the racist celebration by the Argentine team after their victory in Copa America. This has brought shame to the French government and Paris Olympics 2024 might be remembered for all the wrong reasons. Perhaps it is the cost of indulging in extravagant when there’s a crisis.
