All international travelers arriving to India now have to complete the Air Suvidha form. This includes all Indian passport holders, OCI cardholders, as well as foreign nationals.
This form has become mandatory for health screening following the Ebola outbreak. The Bureau of Immigration reminded all travelers of the mandatory nature of the form on a post on X.
Submitting the form does not automatically mean a medical exam or quarantine. The form allows Indian authorities to track travel history and contact details to curb a potential outbreak.
Travelers have to access the form at airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in, which is free of cost. Experts warn to keep an eye out for fake sites, which demand money.
The portal will ask for passport and flight details as given exactly on plane ticket. This avoids mismatches at the immigration desk.
Travelers have to provide a 21-day travel history and an Indian address and contact number for tracing purposes.
The Bureau of Immigration warns to answer the question in the form honestly. A physical copy of the acknowledgement is required to be shown at the airport upon landing.
Experts advise to complete the form at least 24 hours before landing in India. Forgetting the form will lead to extreme delays at the immigration desk.
