A green card applicant has been waiting endlessly for their biometrics appointment. It has been more than 100 days since they filed their marriage-based AOS petition in July 2025, and they still have no update from the USCIS.
No Updates Despite Escalation
All required documents were submitted on time, but there has been no movement on the case. Even after filing a Tier 2 service request two months later, the applicant received no response or callback, only a brief message through the live chat service.
Case Stuck at National Benefits Center
According to USCIS, the case is “undergoing processing checks with the National Benefits Center.” The applicant’s file was last reviewed in August, and since then, nothing has changed. The lack of progress has left them completely stranded.
Others Face Similar Delays
Many applicants have reported similar problems with the NBC, with some waiting more than 200 days for biometrics appointments. These long delays show how widespread and serious the backlog issue has become for immigration applicants.
Emotional and Practical Strain
This delay has created immense stress for the applicant, halting their personal and professional plans. The lack of transparency from USCIS and NBC is adding to the frustration, leaving applicants with no clarity about their future.
Green Card Process at a Standstill
Without biometrics, the applicant’s entire green card process remains frozen. They cannot move forward, receive their travel documents, or get their EADs. The delay has turned a simple step into a major barrier for immigrants trying to settle their lives.
Need for Urgent Action
The USCIS and NBC must take responsibility for these delays. Immigrants deserve a system that values their time and trust. Until action is taken, more lives will remain stuck in bureaucratic uncertainty.
