A man, believed to be of Indian origin, was recently caught in an alleged shoplifting case in Houston, Texas. The news was made public not through an official press release, but via a Facebook post by a Harris County police officer.
Mark Herman, who serves as constable of Harris County Precinct 4, uploaded images of the accused along with the message: “Do not come to Precinct 4 if you do not intend to pay for your merchandise! You will be arrested!”

Further giving details, Herman claimed the man stole over $560 worth of merchandise from a Sunglass Hut store on the Northwest Freeway.
What was more disturbing was the comment section under the post which quickly turned into a hub for racists. People insulted and mocked the man’s ethnicity openly under an officer’s post, with zero hesitation or fear of consequences.

The alleged theft is serious and deserves legal punishment. But it is the law that should decide the outcome, not online trolls looking to vent their racism.
