Imagine trying to commit one crime and becoming the victim of another at the same time. The situation may seem odd but it is exactly what happened with this NRI who came to India. An NRI who came from Australia was kidnapped in Bangalore recently when he tried buying some ‘ganja’ from a local peddler.
According to the police, a total of 6 people have been arrested in this case. The NRI had previously bought cannabis from one of the suspects on numerous occasions. But when he came to know that he is an NRI, he planned the kidnapping with his friends.
All the suspects who are arrested are believed to be from Tamil Nadu, aged between 21 and 27. When the NRI approached the suspect, he was taken to a secluded place where he was physically assaulted.
Out of fear he transferred ₹98,000 to the suspect. He somehow managed to contact his brother who later tracked the GPS of the victim’s car to reach the location. Upon his arrival, the suspects ran away. According to the police, they targeted him because they thought he wouldn’t file a police complaint.
