France is usually considered to be a country where religion and state is as distant as it can be and public expression of religious identity, especially of a minority community is rare. But the grand occasion of Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya has changed everything and saffronized the streets of Paris. It is safe to say that it is for the first time that anything like this is happening in France.
The Hindu community living all around the world is celebrating 22nd January as a festival. The spirit and enthusiasm of the community can be felt in countries like the US, UK, Canada, France etc. These communities are organizing special events for the day to make it historical.
The Hindu community in Paris organized a road show in which hundreds of vehicles participated by sporting the Saffron flag. The rally also had religious songs playing celebrating lord Ram. The chants of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ were heard everywhere on the streets.
The grand consecration of the Ram Temple has become a global event and the eye of the world is at this religious event that has eclipsed over everything in India. The contribution of the Indian diaspora in making this a global event is significant.
