Kamala Harris

The Conservatives and Republican supporters have often dug up Kamala Harris’ past to throw accusations at her. A similar incident transpired recently when a book she wrote 15 years ago became a cause of concern for the Democrats.

Christopher Ruso, a conservative activist, claims that Kamala Harris plagiarized some portions of her 2008 book, Smart on Crime, from sources like Wikipedia and news articles. He alleges that the US Vice President used their content without giving due credit.

The Democratic camp denies these allegations and insists the book cited sources properly. They dismissed Rufo’s claim as desperate attacks against the growing support for the Indian-origin candidate.

The right-wing activist pointed out six paragraphs in a 200-page book where Kamala Harris failed to cite her sources. However, it seemed minuscule as media reviews categorized them as minor mistakes and not a case of intentional plagiarism.

Rufo also has some skeletons in his closet as he has specifically targeted Democrats and Liberal scholars in the past, especially Black ones, with similar accusations. Moreover, he has often spoken out against diversity and inclusion programs, showing clear bias towards conservative ideas.

What might be more concerning for Kamala Harris is that people are drawing similarities between these allegations and Joe Biden’s past plagiarism scandal.
