It is no secret that the United States has failed miserably in dealing with the growing immigrant crisis in the country which is pushing its infrastructure to the limit. However, it seems like Joe Biden is not concerned about the situation at home and would rather blame other countries for not taking in immigrants.
Joe Biden has accused India, a long time ally, of being ‘xenophobic’. Biden said that the country doesn’t want immigrants, at an event with predominantly Asian-American listeners. Along with India, he also accused Japan, another ally for the same reason.
It is ironic that a country like America with such a history of racial discrimination is calling us xenophobic. Biden clubbed in India and Japan with countries like China and Russia and blamed not having immigrants as a reason for the bad economy.
Biden couldn’t be more wrong as firstly, economies like India and China are doing much better than the US and secondly, Russia has a large force of immigrants working in the country.
At a time when hate crime is at a high in the US, such comments are completely unwarranted and hence it drew criticism from all over including US itself. The USA has gone to wars and destroyed nations for being politically different. It is in no position to call any other country xenophobic.
