Festivals are incomplete without celebrations and gatherings. For muslims all across the world, Eid-ul-Fitr is one such celebration of joy which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. However, the Eid celebration turned into a chaotic life threatening situation for thousands of people in Philadelphia, USA when a shootout started near the celebration.
The Philadelphia police have arrested five people in the case so far. It is reported that young people engaged in gunfire near the Ramadan celebration in which around 1000 people were present.
Police confirmed that two people were injured in the exchange of bullets but thankfully no one was killed. The police said that the situation escalated when shooting started between ‘two factions’.
An adult and a 15 year old boy were injured with bullet wounds. The young teenager is also a suspect in the case. Police have recovered five firearms which were used in the gunfire.
Witnesses said that the event turned chaotic as soon as shootings started. One child got injured when a police car hit him as he was trying to flee.
