Tensions were quite high between India and Canada a few months ago when the latter accused the former of involvement in a murder of a Sikh extremist. The tension took the form of hatred among the communities and there were many physical and verbal attacks between communities. While many sikh extremists supported Canada’s official stand, members of the community are facing racism by the local Canadians.
A very disturbing video has emerged on social media in which an old Sikh man can be seen getting heckled by a person, allegedly a Canadian. The video is also claimed to be from Canada and the account sharing it claimed that this is the condition of people who migrated to Canada.

In the video, the man can be seen laughing at the sikh man and making weird noises to make fun of him while he recorded him. This has caused an outrage on the internet and people want the Canadian authorities to take swift action against the culprit.
Canada takes pride in calling itself a safe country for minority groups but incidents like these lay bare how hollow these claims are. Trudeau’s Canada needs to police its own citizens first before it tries to teach the world lessons on inclusivity.
