Trump’s U-Turn On Abortion As Election Nears

Donald Trump Mugshot

Throughout his election campaign, Donald Trump has advocated for stricter abortion rules and promised to impose a near ban on abortion during his second tenure. But when Arizona imposed a near total ban on abortions, Trump seems to have taken a step back and said that the state has gone too far.

Reporters asked Donald Trump about the Arizona ban on Wednesday and he answered that it will be ‘straightened out’. All of it started when the top court of Arizona upheld a law banning abortion dating back to 1864.

The law bans all abortions from the point of conception itself unless the life of the birth giver is in danger. Donald Trump supports the state’s power in making abortion laws and also credits himself for overturning Roe v. Wade, which protected the right to abortion for all Americans.

His stance seems to be motivated politically and he don’t want to lose the votes of the moderates who are yet to decide whom to pick. However, it’ll be interesting to know how the traditional vote bank of the GOP, conservatives take it.
