Two Telugu Students Drown In US Waterfall

In a tragic incident, two Telugu students, Rakesh Reddy Lakkireddy (23) and Rohith Manikantha Repala (25), recently drowned at a waterfall in the United States. Both had just graduated from the University of Arizona.

The accident occurred while they were with a group of friends visiting Fossil Creek waterfall in Arizona on May 8, days after their graduation.

Despite extensive search efforts, their bodies were found only the next day by divers at a depth of 25 feet.

Rakesh is the only child of Chandra Shekar Reddy and Padma who happen to be the heads of Montessori and Narayan Public Schools in Khammam. He had moved to the U.S. to pursue higher education in Computer Science Engineering.

His parents, who had traveled all the way to the US to celebrate his success are now grappling with the unbearable pain of repatriating their son’s lifeless body..

Rohith, who completed his MS in Information Technology, details about his background are yet to be disclosed.

Authorities recovered the bodies of the victims, who drowned after entering the water near the falls.

It’s reported that the group may have slipped into the water, and though they had life jackets, it’s uncertain if they could swim.




Arrangements are being made to repatriate their bodies in a day or two.
