The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has released images of 10 individuals wanted in connection with the March 2023 attack on the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, USA. They have issued three separate notices seeking information from the public to aid in their arrest.
Two of these notices contain photographs of two suspects each, while the third displays images of the remaining six individuals involved in the terrorism-related incident. The NIA assures that the identity of informants will remain confidential.
The attack on the Indian Consulate occurred on March 19, 2023, when pro-Khalistani groups trespassed and attempted to set fire to the Consulate.
On the same day, Khalistani supporters breached security barriers, raised Khalistani flags, damaged the Consulate, and assaulted officials. Subsequently, on July 2, another group attempted to set the Consulate on fire while officials were inside.
The NIA initiated an investigation into the matter, registering a case on June 16 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
