It is not easy to move to a foreign country and achieve everything you want. A search for a sense of belongingness is always something that bothers people who have migrated to foreign lands. However, the Indians have somehow managed to overcome all this and achieve success to the level that it becomes something they are stereotyped for.
The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti recently talked about the success of Indian origin people in the United States. He praised the Indian Americans for taking the lead in multinational companies based in the US. He also said that now every 1 out of 10 CEOs of the fortune 500 companies is an Indian.
He also referred to an old joke which said that you can’t become the CEO if you are an Indian and how it has changed in the present scenario. The joke now is that you can’t become the CEO if you’re not an Indian.
He also referred to Indian CEOs of companies like Google, Microsoft and Starbucks. Most of the Indian origin CEOs are people who have studied in the United States after migrating.
