Will Belgium’s New Immigration Policy Affect Indians?

Belgium New Immigration Policy

A special priority will be given to Belgian and European employees, because the Flanders Region in Belgium is about to change a significant policy in the immigration sector.

But, the workers can only apply, after a careful consideration of local and regional labour markets. Because work saturation in every sphere is a big problem now.

The policy focuses on the government’s very intricate model of labour migration, also it focuses on its expansion to work permit exemptions. The holders of EU Blue Card and intra-company transferees, are the eligibility criteria.

The expansion of work exemptions will allow various business opportunities, involvement in conferences without the need for a work permit.

Employers who want to hire now must submit the required documents of the applicants’ skills, experience, and qualifications, which will be assessed by the Regional Employment Ministry.

The labour market test process will be under observation. Job postings must appear on both the EURES and VDAB websites. Employers also must monitor the duration of their employees’ stay in Belgium, maintaining the stipulated rule of not exceeding 90 days within any 180-day period.

All these changes and modifications in this immigration labour market are targeted for a well utilisation of the immigrants and it also aims to simplify the immigration process in the Flanders Region of Belgium.

Although, if the Flanders Region of Belgium, apply this same rule for countries like India, Bangladesh and many more, then the job opportunities and a door for betterment can open up for these countries as well.
