Netflix India just dropped the much-awaited trailer of “Chamkila.” It’s a movie that has been in the news for a long time. One of the main reasons for fans getting excited for this was its director, Imtiaz Ali, who is one of the most influential directors in recent times. The man behind movies like “Rockstar,” “Jab We Met,” “Tamasha,” and “Laila Majnu,” is coming back after 4 years.
Another reason for the movie getting so much hype is that it brings the golden trio of Imtiaz Ali, Irshad Kamil, and AR Rahman as the Director, Songwriter, and Composer. Whenever these three meet, we witness creation of gems like Agar Tum Saath Ho, Nadaan Parindey, Tum Ho and many more.
It is the story of Amar Singh Chamkila and his beloved wife Amarjot, who were fond of music and the music was fond of them. With the couple being one of the highest record-selling artists of all time. The duo was often called for singing vulgar songs, which many times offended people. Unfortunately, they were killed at a very young age.
The trailer looks pretty simple as it felt like a usual Imtiaz Ali story in its beginning, but it has something going inside which we might get to see once the movie releases. The simplistic trailer is often made for the audience to have the best experience after it’s release.
Starring Diljit Dosanjh, who seems to have perfectly imbibed Amar Singh’s personality, and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles, “Chamkila” raises hope for a great music album by AR Rahman that we have been longing for since long.
