Green Lantern will make their presence known in the DCU, with Guy Gardener appearing in James Gunn’s Superman alongside David Corenswet. Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern is one of the founding members of the Justice League in multiple continuities. While Zack Snyder couldn’t pull off a proper green lantern appearance in the old DCEU, Gunn seems to be changing the status quo. Now Green Lanterns will get their own projects under the title “Lanterns.” The series will include the characters of Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
Since the Green Lantern Corps is essentially an intergalactic police force, the series will essentially be a detective-type adventure. Notice how the series is named “Lanterns” and not “Green Lanterns.” Which could be an indication that the series might include not only the green lanterns but other lantern corps as well. Thus making the DCU mythos portrayed bigger than ever before.
Earlier, there were animated projects centered around Hal Jordan. All of them have earned a level of respect; however, the character has made only one appearance in the live-action genre. Now James Gunn’s DCU will finally do justice to the character. The series already has its showrunner, Chris Mundy. The eight-episode series will be written by Mundy and Damon Lindelof. We can expect a thrilling detective adventure in the form of “Lanterns.”
