There have been very few love stories in Bollywood which actually deals with the social issues made with a sensitivity that makes the audience resonate with it.
Produced by Karan Johar, The Shashank Khaitan directorial “Dhadak”, was less about its story and more about introducing two young talents to the industry. People loved it for its shocking climax and soulful soundtrack. However, amidst the glamour of Bollywood, the innocent charm of the original story was lost, which was prominent in Sairat, the Marathi blockbuster from which Dhadak was adapted.
Now, they are back with another fresh pair: Tripti Dimri of Bulbbul fame and Siddhant Chaturvedi, known for his role as MC Sher in Gully Boy. Together, they will star in a story woven with themes of caste issues and different societal conditioning. A small announcement video was released just a few hours ago on Tripti Dimri’s Instagram page.
The video is themed with the names of couples written on walls as a sign of their love. There are also a few slogans and one-liners reflecting the caste politics that will be the main conflict of the story. As the video moves towards its end, we hear a dialogue exchange between Tripti and Siddhant’s characters.
The promo looks interesting, considering it’s not a remake this time. We might get a fresh story with some great songs, which was also a plus point of Dhadak. Dhadak 2 will release on November 22, 2024. Let us know your thoughts on the announcement video.
