“Dhoomam,” directed by Pawan Kumar, is a thriller film that stars Fahad Fasil in lead roles. It had an interesting premise but unfortunately did not gain widespread attention in theaters, having collected a very poor box office collection. The movie is set to premiere on OTT platforms.
“Dhoomam,” as the name suggests, is the story of a guy named Avinash who suffers from a very convoluted past and doesn’t remember exactly what has happened to him but constantly feels that someone is trying to kill him. All he has is this constant fear and a job that is in turmoil. Within this dilemma, will Avinash be able to overcome the darkness around him? This forms the basic plot of the movie.
Pawan Kumar made his directorial debut in the Malayalam industry with this picture but could not succeed in giving us a mind-boggling movie with proper thrill and suspense. The movie falls flat in many aspects, such as keeping the audience engaged throughout. Although the performances of Aparna Balamurali, Roshan Mathew, and Achyuth Kumar are praiseworthy, the lackluster treatment makes it a tedious watch.
