Drama Starts Once Again For 6 Week OTT Window

Week OTT Window

The Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) has declared they won’t screen Malayalam movies starting February 22 if there’s no 42-day gap between their theatrical and OTT releases.

This comes due to some producers releasing films on OTT platforms before this period, going against the contract terms.

Notable upcoming releases like ‘Manjummel Boys’ and ‘Thankamani’ featuring Dileep might be affected. However, already-released films like ‘Bramayugam’ and ‘Premalu’ won’t face this boycott.

FEUOK has a history of such protests; previously, they shut down theaters for two days to demand a longer gap between theatrical and OTT releases.

But sadly, not much changes. Producers quickly go back to putting movies online soon after they’re in theaters, aiming to make as much money as possible from streaming deals.
