Finally! The waiting endings. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated OTT debut “Heeramandi” is all set to release on May 1st 2024. The makers announced the release date with drones at Mumbai’s famous Mahalaxmi Race Course.
“Heeramandi The Diamond Bazar” is yet another take, taken by Bhansali on the epic settings. Based on 1940, around the time of India’s independence. Heeramandi Delves deep into the life of the courtesans living in Lahore.
It stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal. Apart from Aditi Rao Hydari everyone attended yesterday’s event, because of her wedding she missed the show.
All the actresses were super enthusiastic about the series. They said Heeramandi is a dream-like place. The whole atmosphere was so unique that we didn’t want to come out of it. They also added that no matter how good you are, Bhansali always brings out the better version of you.
Based on the concept by Moin Beg, “Heeramandi The Diamond Bazar” is produced and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Previously we have seen the portrayal of tawaifs in Bhansali’s “Devdas”, so we can expect it to be a grand series.
