Why was “Monkey Man” dropped by Netflix? What was the actual reason behind it?
Directed and acted by Dev Patel, Monkey Man is an action packed thriller movie. Based on Dev’s character, who is an underground fighter, who gets money for being beaten up. After some chain of events he gets tangled with a very rich Indian company and later on gets to know about his mother’s murder, and who did that.
In order to take revenge, He makes a cult in the countryside and thus the action begins.
But, what made Netflix drop the $30 million pack, without any clarification?
Rumours have it that streamers were spooked by the political undertone of the movie. Based on India, acted by Indian actors. The movie delves into intricate political aspects of India. Which probably the Netflix authority didn’t want to take a chance with.
After the movie was dropped by Netflix, “Monkey Man“ went to festivals to find buyers. Only then, Jordan Peele noticed the movie and contacted Universal Picture.
After that, Universal Pictures took the movie, and now the movie is getting a big theatrical release. When the movie was
