JioCinema has announced a two-thirds price cut on premium services, with monthly rates starting at ₹29. The goal of the move is to take on streaming behemoths like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
For streaming on a single device, an ad-free subscription will start at ₹29/month. A ‘Family’ plan priced at ₹89/month would be available for four devices to view content simultaneously. All additional ‘Family’ plan advantages are free of charge for current premium members.
Reliance Industries’ (RIL) streaming service JioCinema has revealed intentions to provide five languages for online and offline viewing of foreign films, TV shows, and children’s content.
With local programming still featuring commercials and match streaming for free, the updated fee aims to provide premium content. The action comes after content deals with significant companies including Warner Bros. Discovery and NBCUniversal, as well as agreements with Disney to combine India TV and streaming assets.
Popular films like Succession, Harry Potter, and Pokemon are among the varied selection of entertainment available on JioCinema. The chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, is renowned for upending rivals in the price-sensitive Indian market with deals that are affordable.
