A growing concern is the excessive advertisement placement, even in videos that are as short as 20 minutes. Just imagine settling in to enjoy a quick episode or short film, only to be interrupted three times by ads every 10 to 15 minutes.

Now it feels more of an ad driven platform, that we see content in between ads.

JioHotstar seems to be prioritising aggressive monetisation, but in the process, they are slowly pushing away loyal viewers.

What viewers expect is transparency and respect for their time. If ads must be shown, they should be limited, especially in short-format content. Viewers come for entertainment, not a loop of repetitive ads.

In the chase for monetization, JioHotstar must remember that it’s the user experience that ultimately keeps the platform alive.
