The release date of Ballerina, the John Wick spinoff, has been postponed. Ana de Armas plays the resentful ballerina Rooney in the film, who was portrayed by Unity Phelan in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Following the miniseries The Continental: From the World of John Wick, this will be a second spinoff from the Keanu Reeves action franchise.
The release date of Ballerina has been rescheduled until June 6, 2025. This is less than a year after June 7, 2024, the film’s initial scheduled release date. According to their source, director Len Wiseman and recently hired series overseer Chad Stahelski are crafting several action scenes that will be added to the film, which wrapped up main filming in early 2023.
The John Wick film Ballerina has been rescheduled for 2024 as a result of the two 2023 strikes. Because of his background as a stunt performer and coordinator, director Stahelski will probably be able to keep the series consistent.
A summer 2024 release date, however, would have enabled the film to debut in a more competitive market and maybe draw in a larger audience because there wouldn’t have been as many other strong contenders.
In June 2025, Ballerina will also have to compete with several big releases, such as Moana, The Black Phone 2, and How to Train Your Dragon. The summer will see a lot of big releases, so the film will probably require more action to make an impression.
