Love, Horror, Drama: Prime Video’s Biggest OTT Deal

Maddock Films Prime Video partnership

In a major deal for Indian cinema, Maddock Films has partnered with Amazon Prime Video to release eight upcoming movies on the platform after their theatrical run. This collaboration is being seen as the largest post-theatrical tie up in the country so far.

The agreement highlights how OTT has become a second home for films, giving them longer visibility. Maddock Films, known for hits like Munjya, Stree, Stree 2, Bhediya, Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail, Badlapur, Hindi Medium and Angrezi Medium, has built a strong creative reputation under producer Dinesh Vijan.

The production house has explored horror comedies, romances, and intense dramas with equal success. Its new line up includes titles like Thama, Param Sundari, Shiddat 2, Badlapur 2, Ikkis, and two fresh additions to its horror comedy universe.

For Prime Video, this partnership strengthens its catalogue against competitors like Netflix, JioCinema, and Disney+ Hotstar. Manish Menghani, Director of Content Licensing at Prime Video, has assured that audiences will get quality films soon after their theatrical runs.

Theatrical releases will always be important, but the second life of films on streaming has become equally valuable. Maddock Films’ deal with Prime Video marks a major blueprint for Bollywood’s future OTT strategy.
