The Hindi dubbed version of the Malayalam blockbuster movie ‘Marco’ has now been released on Jio Hotstar but it looks like it had a very underwhelming response from audiences.
The movie gathered admiration in the Hindi belt when it released in theaters and people who missed the movie were thrilled to experience it on OTT. But the makers delayed the release for months.
Releasing the movie on SonyLIV was one disappointment for fans because it does not have as many subscribers as Netflix. So people wanted the Hindi version of Marco to come out on Netflix.
The Hindi version is streaming on Prime Video as well but the platform did not put efforts to promote it. And now it is streaming for free on Jio Hotstar, but there is zero hype for the movie now.
Currently everybody on Jio Hotstar is watching IPL and nobody seems to be interested in Marco. The Hindi dub could have broken many OTT records if it were to be released in the perfect time.
Timing matters a lot in the current movie business and one mistake can cost a lot for a movie. It is possible, however, that Marco finds its audiences in Hindi after a few more days.
