Multiverse in The Boys? Marvel Mocked Again

Marvel Mocked Again

It has not been too long since minions last mocked the MCU and the DCU for their extensive calendars of upcoming movies. While Minions is not necessarily a “superhero” IP, it certainly paved the way for the trend of making fun of Marvel and DC. And if there is one show that takes it to level eleven, it has to be The Boys. It only makes sense for THE BOYS to mock the multimillion-dollar blockbuster generator, as the series is in fact a very well-crafted parody of the genre itself that satirizes superhero mythos.

THE BOYS excels in its marketing. The in-universe evil corporation that unleashed a tyrant like Homelander on the world, Vought International, has its own Instagram handle, which constantly “publicizes” these egomaniacs. Recently, Vought International’s new post showed us a slew of movies. It is very reminiscent of the way Marvel and DC are known to showcase their release calendars, dividing the upcoming movie into phases. The corporation even has a multiverse project by phase 9. Again, a mockery of the recent “fashion” of making everything about the multiverse.

The Boys is one of the most refreshing takes on the superhero genre. The show has a peculiar interest in mixing the fantasy surrounding superheroes with cold, hard realism. Full of vices, cruelty, and more human-like than ever before, THE BOYS remains a true-to-heart tale that entices the viewers and is beyond the grasp of the rigid stereotypes that make it perfect to take shots like this on huge IPs like Marvel.
