Naga Chaitanya has scored his career-highest grosser with Thandel which collected around 100 crores as per the producers.
However, the film received a mixed response from the audience. While the love story and music worked well, the jail sequences left much to be desired.
Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is based on real-life incidents involving Matchilesam fishermen. The film stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead, with Devi Sri Prasad’s music being a major highlight.
The performances and romantic track played a crucial role in making this romantic action drama a box office success.
According to media buzz, Thandel is expected to make its OTT debut on Netflix on March 7, though an official confirmation is awaited. With the theatrical run nearly ending, the OTT premiere is set to happen exactly 4 weeks after its theatrical release.
It remains to be seen how the OTT audience reacts to the film. Will Thandel find a second wave of appreciation, or will its flaws become more evident while watching on Netflix?
The film is produced by Bunny Vas and presented by Allu Aravind under the Geetha Arts banner.
