In the present OTT area, where platforms are racing to maximize profits, Netflix stands out.
Not just for its content, but for its loyalty toward viewers. Yes, it’s the most expensive of the lot. But here’s the thing, subscribers know exactly what they’re paying for, and what they’ll get in return.
No ads, no hidden charges, and definitely no rented content behind additional payment.
Unlike Prime Video and JioHotsar, Netflix has maintained a clean and straightforward model.
Prime’s growing list of “extra” costs is frustrating, users are paying for a yearly subscription, but then they are asked to pay again for channels like Lionsgate, Eros Now, or even for ad-free viewing.
JioHotstar, which was once known for its free content, has now turned into an ad-heavy platform, even now they are including three ads in a 20-minute video.
What audiences truly want isn’t a cheaper subscription, they want clarity, convenience, and content without compromise. Netflix delivers just that. It may cost more, but it respects the time and expectations of its subscribers.
If Prime Video and JioHotstar continue their current approach, they risk alienating the very audience they’re trying to monetize.
