We are living in a digital era where audiences have grown more sharp and they pay very keen attention to the details.
The creators of CID on Netflix seem to have overlooked one very important fact and that is viewers are not dumb they notice everything.
A recent episode has sparked mockery after fans spotted that one main scene from the episode, showed a “hacked” CCTV feed, by simply using sample stock footage from Vecteezy, even with the watermark in it.
The internet showed no mercy to the creators and questioned that now can a creative team of such a show like CID be so lazy?
Another question has been asked from the audience’s that how can an entire team of writers, directors, editors, and Netflix India could allow such a short cut to actually be in the episode.
The use of stock footage isn’t totally wrong, and it is often a practical choice in filmmaking by the editors.
But to simply use a free sample, without even bothering to license it properly or not removing the watermark is a clear case of carelessness.
CID is a show which is enjoyed by many generations now that it is on Netflix the audience from this platform demands premium value content and compromising with that is a big mistake.
Where logic, consistency, and attention to detail takes the backwards lane.
If creators believe that viewers won’t catch such mistakes, they’re very much wrong and underestimating the audience.
So CID on @netflix thought no one would notice they slapped a Vecteezy sample video to show a “hacked” CCTV feed? Peak creativity. How the director, production team & @NetflixIndia gave this a thumbs up. Who needs logic when you have stock footage, right? @Banijayasia pic.twitter.com/6FmQ705IWk
