Three South Indian movies are coming out on OTT this weekend. And it is a wide range to choose from. These movies are from different industries and one of the movies is a hit, one did average collections and the other a huge flop.
Mohanlal’s ‘Thudarum’ will be streaming on the 30th of May on Jio Hotstar. It is an industry hit and has good word of mouth. We will have to see how well it works on OTT after the theatrical success.
Nani’s ‘HIT: The Third Case’ is a Telugu thriller and it is coming out on Netflix on the 29th of May. It acquired mixed responses from critics and audiences. There was a heavy clash from movies like Retro, but it still turned out without heavy loss. There is a good chance of the movie working really well on Netflix.
‘Retro’ on the other hand, will be out on Netflix on the 31st of May. It was meant to be Suriya’s comeback movie but could not do much even in Tamil Nadu. A movie from a star like Suriya not working in theaters means there might be very less people who would want to watch the movie on OTT as well.
These three movies were in the theaters at the same time and now they are having OTT premieres on the same weekend as well. It will be interesting to see which film gathers the most number of views on OTT.
