Prime Video India released the teaser for the much-awaited Tamil horror series, ‘The Village’ on Thursday noon, November 9 and is set to release it on November 24.
Starring Tamil superstar Arya Divya Pallai, the show’s teaser falls well short of everyone’s expectations. From Shabby effects to visibly artificial ghosts, the announcement video feels like an absolute mockery and a half-hearted attempt. The teaser was released on social platform ‘X’ and despite garnering near to 23k views since 6 hours of its release, it has only managed to get 4 comments because there’s not a single thing which could grab your attention in the short span of 20 seconds.
The 20-second teaser tries hard to grab your attention by showing a montage of dark and gritty horror scenes and jump scares but only a 3-year-old child would find these to be scary as the effects look out of a 90s video game and the ghosts are much akin to the plastic mannequins, we see in supermarkets. The teaser went wrong in all fields ranging from soundtrack to make-up and has set our spirits low for what we thought was going to be a revolutionary project. What disappointed us the most was the blood scene where the animation looked like it was out of candy crush.
The only saving grace the project is now left with must be the presence of superstar Arya who was last seen in Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam, which is presently streaming on Zee5. The show is directed by Milind Rau and is based on a graphic horror novel of the same name. We hope that our speculations prove to be wrong, and the show outperforms this absolute failure of a teaser by miles and beyond.
