iBomma Ravi has received partial relief from the Nampally court in the ongoing piracy case. The court has allowed him to operate and manage his previously frozen bank accounts, but the roughly Rs. 3 crores already lying in those accounts will remain frozen for now.
Immadi Ravi, popularly known as iBomma Ravi, is accused of operating the major Telugu movie piracy network iBomma and related websites. Hyderabad Cyber Crime police arrested him in 2025 as part of their investigation into the piracy operation.
During the investigation, police froze his bank accounts and deposits containing around Rs. 3 crores. Police had linked the money to the alleged piracy network.
Ravi approached the Magistrate Court at Nampally earlier this month seeking relief. He told the court that the frozen accounts were creating financial difficulties for his family and affecting his ability to meet regular expenses, including education and medical needs.
Ravi can use the accounts for future transactions and normal banking operations. However, he cannot withdraw or spend the existing Rs. 3 crore that was seized and frozen during the investigation.
In simple terms, Ravi can now operate the bank accounts, but the money already under the investigation remains out of his reach, while the investigation and legal proceedings continue.
The development comes while the larger piracy case is still pending. Police have previously described the iBomma network as a massive piracy operation and investigated financial transactions allegedly connected to it.
